About
Graphicsbyte

Graphicsbyte is the design studio of Mark Boehly, built around the belief that great design begins with curiosity. Every project starts by understanding the story, the people, and the problem before a single concept is drawn. Whether creating a brand identity, illustrating an idea, or building a website, the goal is always the same. Communicate clearly, solve the right problem, and create something that feels authentic to the business it represents.

Since 2013 Graphicsbyte has partnered with businesses, nonprofits, and creative organizations across Oregon and beyond. Every industry brings a new perspective, a new challenge, and another opportunity to learn. That curiosity has shaped the studio into a practice that adapts to different audiences without relying on formulas or trends. Each project becomes its own solution, grounded in strategy, craftsmanship, and thoughtful design.

I started drawing before I had a reason to. Sketchbooks everywhere, creatures, machines and things that did not quite exist yet. That habit never stopped. It just grew into a career.

I am a native Oregonian, an Eagle Scout, and someone who has always been more interested in the terrain ahead than the path already mapped. That instinct shows up in the work. Deliberate choices, systems that hold up under pressure, design that earns its place rather than decorates it.

My background is in graphic design with a degree from Portland State University. Over the years that foundation expanded into branding, logo design, packaging, web development, and illustration. Not because I chased every direction at once but because each one grew naturally out of the last. Brands need websites. Websites need strategy. Strategy needs a visual language. That chain of thinking is how Graphicsbyte operates.

I work best directly with business owners and directors who care about the big picture. People who want their brand to mean something and their website to do something. That one on one dynamic is not a limitation of running a solo studio. It is the point.

A personal body of original illustrated work lives in the Graphicsbyte shop. It is not separate from the studio. It is proof of how I think when there is no brief and no client. That creative range is what shows up in the client work too.
